Counterpoint Studios is different because we believe music lessons should be personalized, practical, and built around the individual student—not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
Located in the Greenville, SC area, Counterpoint Studios offers flexible in-home, in-studio, and virtual music lessonsfor children, teens, and adults. Students can learn piano, guitar, ukulele, Loog guitar, songwriting, voice, and more in a way that connects to their personal goals and interests.
Personalized Music Lessons for Every Student:
Some students want to learn to read music and build a strong traditional foundation. Others want to play their favorite songs, write music, sing, improvise, or learn how to accompany themselves. At Counterpoint Studios, lessons are adapted to the student's age, experience level, learning style, interests, and goals.
Our teachers focus on helping students develop real musical skills while also making lessons engaging and enjoyable.

A Make-up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice (By email or online).
Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice may not qualify for a Make-up Lesson Credit (emergencies and illness always qualify for makeups). No more than three (3) Make-up Lesson Credits should be pending at a time per student.
Credits can be used to schedule a Make-up Lesson online or by email at any available time with your teacher or other available teacher. Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expires 90 days after membership ends.
Usage of Make-up Lesson Credits is never guaranteed, but is a courtesy extended to families to try to compensate for scheduling conflicts. If you are finding that it is consistently difficult to get to your weekly scheduled lesson, an alternate day or time for the lesson may be offered, pending teacher availability.
-

Counterpoint Studios believes that music education should be both structured and personal.
Our teaching philosophy combines:
Strong musical fundamentals
Healthy technique
Creativity
Student interests
Individualized instruction
Confidence-building
Enjoyment and lifelong appreciation of music
We believe students learn best when they are appropriately challenged while also having opportunities to explore music that is personally meaningful to them.
Lessons are adapted to each student's:
Age
Experience level
Learning style
Musical interests
Goals
Strengths
Areas needing additional development
Our goal is not simply to teach students how to play notes. We want students to develop the skills, confidence, creativity, and understanding necessary to become independent and well-rounded musicians.
